Alexander Andriatis

Logo

I'm a postdoctoral researcher in the Environmental Dynamics Laboratory at MIT, where I study ocean turbulence and particle transport. My current work supports understanding the efficacy of marine carbon dioxide removal and the environmental impacts of deep-sea mining. My research spans observational field campaigns using novel instruments, lab studies, and numerical modeling.

I am also a passionate decarbonization advocate and enjoy thinking about solutions for the clean energy transition.

If you'd like to get in touch, send me an email.

Data

I aim to make my research transparent and reproducible. Here you’ll find the data and code that contribute to publications.

Data from: Observations of turbulent structures at the base of the ocean mixed layer

Data and MATLAB scripts that generate each figure of Andriatis et al. (2026), from the Task Force Ocean experiment in November 2020. Full processed thermistor chain and Wirewalker data are available on request.

Data from: Observations and numerical simulations of the onset and growth of Langmuir circulations

Processed airborne, wave glider, and drifting instrument data, large-eddy simulation output, and the scripts that generate each figure of Andriatis et al. (2024).

California Coast 2020

Data collected as part of the Task Force Ocean observational campaign in November 2020 in the Pacific Ocean, west of San Diego.

matlab_tools_AAA

MATLAB functions for ocean data analysis and figures, used in the archives above.
